「亚洲发型化妆大赛」于1976年创办，四十年来，「亚洲发型化妆大赛」已成为亚洲美发美容界的主导并获得超过十多个亚洲国家及地区全力支持，当中包括中国、日本、韩国、菲律宾、马来西亚、新加坡、中国香港等，成为亚洲美发美容界的主导位置。2017年，「第四十一届亚洲发型化妆大赛」将会聚焦中国，首次设立中国预赛，并被邀请加盟中国全国工商业联合会美容化妆业商会，作为化妆造型美学设计专业委员会的重点项目。
Asian Hairstyling and Make-up Competition was established by Mr. C.K. Chao in 1976. Mr. Chao is the Chairman of the AHBA. Over the past 40 years, the competition is one of the Asia Mega event in the hair and beauty industry. Contestants come from more than 16 countries in Asia including China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.
